Elation Sync New Claims
Feature Overview
⚠ OPTIONAL FEATURE
Elation Sync New Claims is not enabled by default. It must be manually added to the account by a developer or admin before it will have any effect. It also requires an active Elation integration on the account.
What Is Elation Sync New Claims?
Elation Sync New Claims is a background enhancement to the Elation integration. When enabled, the system automatically checks for new billing claims that are linked to Elation patients but have no insurance on file, and re-fetches the latest patient data from Elation to fill in the missing information.
What Problem Does It Solve?
Occasionally a claim may be created for a patient who is linked to Elation, but their insurance has not yet been pulled into the system. Without this feature, those claims would sit in a "New" state with no insurance and no way to move forward automatically. With this feature on, the system catches those claims and requests a fresh sync from Elation to bring in the missing insurance details.
How It Works
During the regular Elation background job, if this feature is enabled, the system:
- Finds all claims in "New" status that belong to patients linked to Elation.
- Filters to only those patients who have no insurance policies on file.
- For each matching claim, requests an updated patient record from Elation to pull in the latest insurance data.
- The patient record is updated automatically — no manual action is needed.
Heads Up
- This feature runs entirely in the background as part of the scheduled Elation sync job. There is nothing for users to trigger manually.
- It only affects claims in "New" status with no insurance. Claims in any other status are not touched.
- This feature requires the Elation integration to already be active on the account. It will have no effect without it.
- If Elation does not return updated insurance data for a patient, the claim will remain in its current state — no error will be shown.
Getting Access
